I stand corrected...for the moment

The unbelievable happened on the weekend. Ash beat me at Uno. 3-2. I am still in shock. He also beat me at Monopoly.

Ash is the Monopoly Champion.

The game started off badly for me. I was in jail non-stop and it was all over when Ash bought Park Lane and Mayfair. But I can concede defeat with dignity. But...it will not happen again...I will reign supreme once more! Mwoar hahhhhahahahhahah!

Don't mess with the Princess!

Well, last week, the neighbours moved out. Obviously they unsettled a mouse nest as Princess moved from her watch post on the fence, to hovering around the bottom of it. yes, she caught her first mouse. A baby one at that. As befitting her nasty sense of humour and disregard for the pain and suffering of others, (she regularly stalks Monty and jumps on him) she played with the mouse in a creepy way. Tossing it in the air and catching it. Enjoying the torment somewhat, but a little confused as how to finally kill it. So, as she scampered to the garden bed with the mouse in her mouth and then placed it on the ground, I finished it off with a brick. The poor thing looked as if it had been flattened by a steam roller. Princess then sat next to the brick mewing, finally strolling into the house and prowling around like a lion. Eeeek!

The Countdown is on!

June is here! With it comes finishing school reports and correcting students learning diaries. Most importantly, it meant flipping the calendar over and seeing that my time in my own place is nearing an end and that the new beginning is near! Yay! Am so excited! With moving comes a million and one jobs and the list that I am ticking off is HUGE! Have already done a few things, like redirecting mail, but its the BIG jobs that are coming up like;

• Packing...the shed is full of boxes just waiting to be filled.
• The end of lease cleaning...thats a list on its own. The Real Estate Agent gave me a typed list that ran for 2 pages! The thing that I am dreading the most is cleaning the oven. Ergggghhh. I think Mum might enjoy that task!
• Cutting off the utilities. Mental note...pay electric bill, before that happens on its own!
• The garden...ahhhh at least my beloved will take care of that! Oh how I love him! I will miss the lavendar bush...will definately have to plant a new one.
• Tossing the clapped out washing machine on the nature strip for hard waste collection. Its the machine that actually groans as it washes.
• So many more things...so little time!

The good thing is at least I have leave to do the nasty stuff. Would never be able to do it if I was at work.

Its been a good week...but am looking forward to the weekend. Ash and I have just celebrated 8 months together. Time moves so fast and its been wonderful. We are still waiting for that first fight though. Try as we may, we just can't argue! That must be a good thing though?! I guess we either get along so well and are really compatible or we just can't be bothered picking faults with eachother.

Hopefully tomorrow, the agent wont knock on the door with a crowd of people to show through next door. The number system here is confusing, so he keeps coming here. Was not impressed to be caught in my dressing gown in front of strangers last week!
